The Valencia CF captain continues to cement his legendary status at the Club
On Saturday afternoon, Valencia CF captain José Luis Gayà reached an impressive milestone—300 matches played in LaLiga.
His LaLiga debut came against Atlético de Madrid on April 27, 2014, at the Camp de Mestalla. Since joining the VCF Academy at just 11 years old, Gayà has demonstrated skill, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the club of his life: Valencia CF.
Progressing steadily, he became a key figure for VCF Mestalla before making his first-team debut on October 30, 2012, in a Copa del Rey match against UE Llagostera. From that moment, his development skyrocketed, and his importance within Valencia CF grew exponentially, eventually becoming the second-youngest player (28 years and 289 days) in the Club’s history to reach 350 official matches. The youngest remains Fernando Gómez Colomer, who achieved the feat at 27 years and 239 days.
